External Cephalic Version

Doesn't that sound lovely? I went to the dr. last week and Sugar (Ava's definite name for the baby) was upside down for the trip out. So, we went to the hospital bright and early the next morning to have the baby turned. It was a little more intense than I realized...I.V., an anesthesiologist in there the whole time, a couple dr's, and lots of warnings from people about how awful it was.

Thankfully, Sugar turned with little effort and is still in the proper position for exit. Thank you, God! Sadly, Mark and I saw the 6:45 a.m. time together as kind of a date. (Thanks to my fabulous sister!)
Success!
Ahhhh, Diet Coke. I was forbidden to eat or drink before the big flip.
Since we are kind of maxed out right now in terms of what we can handle, Mark just went ahead and made sure we weren't expecting any more surprises. Thankfully, he was all clear.

I love you crazy people! The last picture makes me laugh a whole lot. I'm so glad Sugar flipped and I can't wait to meet her (or him!!). Love you!

Hilarious! So glad the baby turned for you and that it was uneventful. You guys do a great job of managing all that is on your collective plate. Praying for you as you count down!!

Abby

Good job, Sugar baby. Can't wait to see your sweet little face!

Oh that Mark. Always cracking me up. I'm with you on the "date" thing. I consider it a "date" sitting next to Jeremy at church when the kids are at Sunday School/nursery and Thomas goes to children's liturgy. Ha.

seriously, mark, that would be frightening, wouldn't it? can't wait to hear the news of sugar's arrival! i guess that's a better sibling-chosen name choice than our current one: "fluffy 1-5". sounds a bit like a call sign for a plane, don't you think? considering our family though, it's rather fitting. however, i had to inform the boys that once the child makes his/her entrance, "fluffy 1-5" will be no more :-)

I'm so happy that the procedure was a success! I cannot WAIT to see "Sugar!" You are the CUTEST couple ever! I love the post!

Sugar has impressive acrobatic skills already...so excited to hear about the arrival of #3!

So glad that you documented this experience! You are totally brave and I'm so happy that Sugar has already inherited some of Ava's gymnastic skills. Did Mark have to get checked? Love you.

seriously you guys crack me up...next time we are at the hospital will you stop by for entertainment? I will let Mark play with the equipment and have a diet coke just for you!

So happy Sugar turned!

that last picture is hilarious. So glad Sugar made the flip. I love that you do things like eat cookie dough & drink diet coke. It makes me feel very better about eating & drinking all the stuff you're "not supposed to"
