This is my once-a-baby and last-ever blog post......how do I know? I took all the TV ad's advice and talked to my doctor......not about Predaxa, but about getting my proverbial tubes tied. The only problem is that my doctor is part of a Catholic hospital so they do not perform these on-site....so he told me to call him on his cell and he would do it at his buddy's office that happens to be a Podiatrist. Hmmmmm. Not sure I want that procedure done at the foot doctor.....not that it's not clean or anything, but it just doesn't seem right is all. (To be clear, I am not against Catholics OR Podiatrists, just want you all to know what's up.) I may just try to find a nice Urologist.
So I would love to give you a great narrative on a dramatic water breaking at our house, high-speed drive to the hospital, premature crowning, etc., but none of that happened this time. We pretty much went to the hospital at 9am, and a couple hours later we had a baby.
Heidi was excited to see me in some sweet blue scrubs again.
The problem is that the sweet blue scrubs ended up being a tight little blue jumpsuit. Not sure when this changed, but buyer beware. Last time I was in the O.R. I felt like one of the boys....just operating on the patient, wearing the same thing as the docs, you know. This time I was clearly the odd person out, wearing something similar to what I would wear if I was going to paint the side of a barn. You decide.
Enough about the blue jumpsuit. Let's talk about IV's. Heidi claims that the IV is the worst part of the whole thing. But don't worry, it does not affect her ability to text. (Note the phone still within reach.) Just a side note about Heidi and txting: If you can't get a hold of her on the phone, text her. She is physically unable to not return texts. So, you know if she does not text you back one of our kids is painting Sheriff or something.
This is the Dad chair. The Dad basically sits here in this chair for the first part of the operation because they don't feel you can handle your wife getting sliced open with a knife. Trust me, I looked really good sitting here in my little blue suit.
Baby out, Heidi getting stapled up.
I think most of you have seen pics on FB that were taken right after Hutch was born, so I will end the post with a pic of the 6 of us.....

Congrats to you all! I love the guest post and especially the last picture. Such a cute family!
I love your guest post, Marky Mark! You are as funny and witty as your wife. I miss all those little people...the big ones too! Hutch is perfect and I can't wait to meet him! Love!
Why do I have a sneaking suspicion this podiatrist situation will give you a reason to guest post again? Love the jumpsuit. All you needed was a harness and you could have been skydiving! We miss and love you all! Can't wait to meet Hutch!
Amber and Ryan
Congratulations. I was getting anxious to hear the play by play. Thanks for making my morning:)
What a cute name, by the way!
love, love, love the name! :) congrats to you all!
Love everything about this post... it just makes me laugh and warms my heart! Your kids are all so blessed to have such fabulous and funny parents! I have long suspected that Heidi must have the last texting "word" ;)
What? They told me I couldn't wear makeup or use any hair products before my c/s! Although I did get to eat after mine so I guess there are trade-offs. But enough about that because there is a baby to discuss. And he is exceptionally cute baby.
Why aren't there any pictures of said baby on the post about his arrival?
Love you all bunches and hope there is another guest post one day, even if there isn't a #5, because you are funny. Now go take some pictures of Hutch for us, please.
Your hubby is funny! Love the pics (well, the blue pantsuit ones are bit disturbing ...), your little man's name and your family' sense of humor.
mark- you are funny like your wife. if you start your own blog i promise to read it every day :)
Ha! So happy to see your new family together! And I am laughing out loud about the foot doctor.
