Hopefully in about 48 hours we will be out of here! Probably dependent on the blizzard we are having in Western Michigan. I'm not even kidding, it said "Blizzard Warning" on TV. Are we on the north pole?!
I don't have much to report, and hate to write an update just for the sake of writing one. But-a few things to say today. First, I think we were misinformed about another ophthamologist coming by to see Kaiya yesterday or today. I think there was some confusion about whether or not he had already been by-and when you have seen 18 doctors, no lie, there is bound to be a few misunderstandings! Anyway, we will see the pediatric ophthamologist again in a couple of months. No change, still, in her eye.
The occupational therapist came by today to check her out. She was pleased at Kaiya's performance. She smiled and acted real cute for her. :) She gave us a few things to look out for-but overall didn't have too many concerns at this point. We will be having Early On-a program to work with children with developmental concerns, come to the house monthly once we leave to make sure she is developmentally on track.
Other than that, I'm just counting the days of no more weird smelling dinner trays and cots and dirty floors..but so thankful for this wonderful hospital and how good they have been to us and our sweet girl.
We will let you know once we are home safely, but then pending no major changes, quit bugging your email with updates and just keep our family blog current with the day to day life from here on out.
I am continually mindful of the verse my Mom told me our first day here, Luke 8:50-"But when Jesus hear it, he answered him saying "Fear not, believe only and she shall be made whole." Continuing to pray for complete healing and so immensely grateful for the miracles already granted to us. Thanks for your partnership in that!
Love to each of you!

We are so thankful that she is doing well. And, glad that you guys will be going home soon. Hopefully, the blizzard won't keep you at the hospital!! Hope you guys have a Merry Christmas :)
So happy for you and thankful for God's blessings! We continue to think about your family and pray for sweet little Kaiya's full recovery.
One positive re: the weather: Well at least you all are going to have a white Christmas it sounds like! ;-)
Keep the updates coming! I love to read the news, even if it's tiny. Every bit means she's on her way to healing!!
Merry Christmas. Hope you get home soon.
xoxo,
Jennifer
What a great update! I am so happy that you guys are on your way home soon... praise God for his healing hand on Kaiya, and we will pray for complete healing for her left eye. I am sure you are SO anxious to get home - what an experience this has been for you. Thank you so much for openly sharing your journey and prayer requests with all of us, and for the privilege of walking with you in prayer. Your faith, example and testimony will continue to be used to God's glory. Have a merry christmas and a happy (and most importantly) healthy new year!
Love, the Livingstons
ps. LOVE the family picture, especially the red tutus!
So thankful for God's answered prayers. We continue to pray for conplete healing. Have a wonderful Christmas!
I'm a friend of the Parker's and Mannings and have been checking your blog daily along with praying for your sweet family. I'm so happy to hear the good news on Kaiya AND that you are close to being in your own home. God is so good and during this crazy time, it is great to hear such great news! Merry Christmas to all 4 of you!!
Heidi and Mark, I know how you feel. Our youngest had to go back into the hospital for 14 hours (one day and night) for severed jaundice when he was 6 days old. I never thought bringing him home the SECOND time would be SO wonderful! I can't wait to hear you all are home safe and sound :-)
So happy to hear the latest news! We will continue to pray that you'll be home for Christmas, despite the snow. I have to admit, I'm jealous of the snow--it's going to be a very un-white, and probably rainy, Christmas here. Merry Christmas to your wonderful family! What a extra, extra special celebration it will be this year for you all! :) Oh, and I LOVE your family picture too. You guys should be in Christmas commercials, Sheriff included! ;)
We are so happy for you and this wonderful miracle. Praise God!! Of course, we will continue to pray.
Merry Christmas! :)
Wow...I have been really busy and haen't had a chance to check on her progress in some time. I just want to say that we serve an awesome God. I believe it was Saturday when I read the last post and things weren't looking so great! It might have been friday though. I prayed that God would turn things around and make this a Christmas Miracle on Christmas Day. God answers ALL PRAYERS! I will keep praying for all of you until she has 100 percent healing. Thank you for giving me this opportunity to see a true miracle come true...
