Mug Shots: DeKorne Style

Nobody will probably enjoy this except those involved...but Mary had a very organized photo system at the wedding. The DeKorne picture included our last name on the front, and then the name of everyone who was to be in the picture on the back.

Mark was walking around with the sign since he was the man in charge of gathering-and at one point I told him it looked like a mug shot....well, you can guess how it went from there.

Love you family!

4 Weddings and a flower girl

We are getting old and our weddings have diminished greatly-but this summer we had a resurgence and got to be a part of lots of fun celebrations!

This wedding was especially fun because we had two flower girls and one usher. They looked pretty cute to me! Marks cousin Eric and his sweet wife Mary got married in our very own hometown.

Practice makes perfect.
Entertaining ourselves during some downtime at the rehearsal.
The great thing about family weddings is Oma and Opa come to town!!! We were able to get donuts together before the wedding. Obviously this is one of our favorite things. In life.

All dolled up and ready. Wish I had taken these pictures with their dresses on because the hair fell fast-but I was so nervous something would end up on them!
The stark difference in their hair made me laugh.

Pretty in Pink
 Bride and Groom!

The performance. Held hands the whole time. Love.
Kaiya throwing a few sparkling apple juices back at the reception!
I think my mother in law is so beautiful! Inside and out. We are blessed!
Love Grandma and Aunt Joan laughing in this picture!!!

Unfortunately the younger two didn't make the cut...

This was Ava's first reception and she kept calling it a "show"...she loved dancing the night away. :)
Big Congrats to Eric and Mary and thanks for letting us share in your special day!!

Some more firsts...

Day of Kindergarten!!!!!

This picture kind of broke my heart. Nothing was wrong, she was just sitting there waiting for me to pick her up, but what is it about your little baby in school that makes them seem little and vulnerable? Or maybe like I'm just an over-emotional old lady?
We celebrated with a 1st day of school cake and our best almost family, the Schuchs.
This is not a first anything. I just think he's cute.
First 2nd day? (I'm done now.)
And the first day was coming up for these two cuties...(this was actually orientation day but we find any reason to go get donuts around these parts.)
First solid food. (which seems funny because now he ate more meat loaf than me the other night. But he had cereal once like good parents are supposed to do.)
And the first day of 3's preschool. I've decided it's nice to have subsequent children because they are so excited to get to do what their bigs have been doing for a few years already!

Which made another first: just me and this little pumpkin. Brother napping-sisters gone-
And finally, first soccer. Ava and her friend Molly...we lucked out getting to have her super talented Dad as our coach. Thanks for a fun season, Mr. H. :)
