Hello Pumpkin!

Our good friends Melissa and Addison came to visit from Houston last week. It was a quick trip, but not without donuts, pumpkins, and Mark teaching the girls how to make mashed potatoes.

Turns out getting a picture of Addison and Ava together was about as easy as going down a slip n' slide gracefully. Therefore, I have none.
Unless this counts....enjoying the apples from the orchard. A real framer. :) Maybe next time!

Nifty, Nifty look who's 50!

Melinda and I took a roadtrip this weekend to celebrate Laurel's 50th birthday. We had a fun weekend of shopping, eating, and napping. Our favorites! Happy Birthday to the cutest 50 year old I know!

Donuts, of course.

Amelia Bedelia

Those were some of my favorite books when I was little. So this made me laugh.

We keep shoes by the front door (yeah, i know, too many) lined up. Ava has been helping me clean up at night so the other night I said "go put your shoes by the front door", assuming she would put them with the other 20 billion pairs...

Nope. But I guess I can't be mad at a child who follows directions so literally.

Blog Delay

Lots going on at our house. That's how we roll. But it makes it tricky to blog as much as I want sometimes. :)

Last weekend I was away on a MOPS retreat...Dad of the year took the girls to the zoo. Something I've never quite gotten to myself!

All ready to go. (Ava has a baby 93% of the time)

Then Mark convinced Ava if he moved her recliner upstairs it would be fun to watch football together.
And they even went out to eat with friends! He's a better man than I. :) I felt like I accomplished something though, too. I went to the Michigan City outlet and only spent $17 dollars. All in all, a good weekend.

"It is a wise father that knows his own child." -- William Shakespeare

The Dad around here hasn't been around here too much lately. Silly work. When he is, however, he is a hot commodity and rarely without a 2 year old at his side.

I will sit by him at all times.

He will dry my hair. (not you, mommy. daddy wants to dry my hair.)Clearly he does good work!

And then it's time for her to whip his hair into shape.
The future is bright.
Really bright.
And if, perhaps, I can't be by Dad every second, I will merely commandeer his Blackberry. (That gets him every time.)

golden oldies

i hate the cheesy saying about make new friends and keep the old. but i suppose it's kinda true.
i am super blessed to have many fabulous new and old friends, but last weekend got to spend time with the gold club. :) so much fun to hang out with people who i've loved for so long and keep making new people for me to love!

we had a blast just laying around in the cold weather, not doing our hair (me), and playing with babies.

our kiddos all enjoyed hanging out together. baby isla got to come be with us, too!
i miss my friends all the time, so it was such a treat to get to be together! :)

Will Sit for Lollipop

We got Ava's first real haircut last week. (Dad cut off the mullet awhile ago...) She was way better than I'd anticipated. It's really remarkable what a 2 year old will do for a Dum Dum.
She left feeling like a million bucks. (Because of the Dum Dum)
Whoever came up with white ones??? SMART!
So it was only an inch an a half...but worth documenting nonetheless. Love you pretty girl!
